State Rep. Ray Reed proudly represents Missouri’s 83rd House District, which includes vibrant communities of Brentwood, Maplewood, Richmond Heights, Shrewsbury, and portions of Affton. Reed was elected to his first two-year term in November 2024 and is the first Black person to represent the district.

Born and raised in Missouri, Reed is a proud Brentwood Eagle, and University of Central Missouri Mule. His journey in public service began as an intern in the Office of Governor Jay Nixon. There, Reed learned about public service and administration while reviewing legislation and clemency applications, and assisting with boards and commission appointments. This early experience gave him a deep understanding of how government can deliver meaningful change when it’s focused on the needs of the people.

Reed’s work centers on creating opportunities for working families, expanding access to affordable healthcare, protecting reproductive rights, and ensuring every Missourian—regardless of their background—can thrive. His vision for Missouri is one of hope, progress, and unity— A vision that ensures the best days for Missouri families are still ahead.
