Stephanie Hein

District 136

Representative Stephanie Hein, a Democrat, represents part of Greene County (District 136) in the Missouri House of Representatives. She was elected to her first two-year term in November 2022.

In addition to her service with the legislature, Hein is a professor emerita at Missouri State University. Previously, she served as the head of Missouri State University’s Department of Hospitality and Leadership. Hein started her professional career in the multi-billion-dollar food and beverage industry.

Hein is an active member of the Springfield Downtown Rotary Club. She is the past chair of the Springfield Convention and Visitor Bureau Board of Directors, and has served on Springfield’s Airport Task Force. Hein was named one of Springfield’s Influential Women in 2014.

Hein graduated at the top of her class from Hartville High School. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Restaurant Administration and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Missouri State University. She also holds a PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Missouri - Columbia.

Born in Rolla, Hein now resides in Springfield with her husband, Tony. They have two daughters.
